Completely away from the scandals, Miley Cyrus has launched support for a campaign to block construction of housing in Australia, which threatens to change the face of a picturesque coastal area where her boyfriend was raised.
The teen pop star is dating Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, who spent much of his childhood in Phillip Island in Victoria.
Environmental activists are currently fighting against a residential building on 23 acres offarmland in the coastal town of Ventnor, and Miss Cyrus has given its backing to the campaign.
In a comment on Twitter, the singer-actress compared the struggle with películaFernGully: The Adventures of Zak and Crysta, and urges fans to spread the word about the situation of Phillip Island.
She writes: "Phillip Island is a magical place, it would be a shame to change it. Real lifeFern Gully. Www.facebook.com / Gpmob".
